Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Acupressure is based on one the most ancient principles of healing - that simply touching a specific point on the body will release stress and improve health in the body. In an acupressure session, I apply firm but gentle pressure directly to these "points" on your body, which relieves your muscle tension and improves your circulation. This simple and powerful technique has been shown to very effective in treating headaches, migraines, backaches, muscle tension, insomnia and reduces stress.
Cupping is a type of alternative therapy that originated in China. It involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. The suction facilitates healing with blood flow.
Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This relieves muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It also helps form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.
I utilize dynamic (gliding cups across tissues) and static cupping during massage (upon permission) to assist in relieving pain and loosening tight muscles. It is an amazing way to facilitate the effectiveness of the massage.
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body. As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. During a session, I work directly with your energy field to remove blockages, detoxify your system, and restore your vital life force energy. Reiki utilizes a gentle laying on of hands to conduct the necessary energy force between us. The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.

Himalayan Hot Stone Massage
Hot stone massage is a popular way to relax and ease pain. I use Himalayan Salt Stones for an added benefit. During the massage, your skin will absorb 84 nutrients and minerals that are necessary for your health. These essentials include: calcium, potassium, sodium chloride, magnesium, manganese and iron to name a few. In addition, there is gentle exfoliation during the process leaving your skin feeling healthy and revitalized.
Migraine Therapy consists of a combination of massage and acupressure points specific to releasing tension and pain in the head and neck. These techniques are also perfect for relieving stress that sometimes causes migraines. There are multiple causes of migraines; stress, hormonal imbalance and chronic muscle pain due to postural imbalances. I assess what is most likely the cause and tailor the massage to suit. (In a 60 minute treatment I also add in Reiki for emotional balance as that is another issue for migraine sufferers.)
Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes.
